GPT Image 2 API pricing: $0.0065 per image at 1K, any quality

Updated 2026-10-20中文版

GPT Image 2 (gpt-image-2) is OpenAI's image model for generating and editing pictures. On aisplice it is one API call that costs $0.0065 for a 1K image, whatever quality you ask for. Below are the full price list, how it compares with paying OpenAI directly, and a request you can run as it is.

Price per image

Resolutionlowmedium / autohigh
1K$0.0065$0.0065$0.0065
2K$0.0074$0.0118$0.0421
4K$0.0077$0.0136$0.0540
  • Every aspect ratio costs the same: 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 3:4, 5:4, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16, 2:1, 1:2, 3:1, 1:3, 21:9, 9:21 or auto.
  • Reference images for editing (up to 16) do not change the price.
  • A failed or refused generation is refunded automatically, so you only pay for images you get.
  • Pay as you go from your balance; there is no subscription.

Compared with OpenAI's own API

OpenAI bills gpt-image-2 by tokens. For a 1024×1024 image its pricing works out to roughly $0.006 at low quality, $0.053 at medium and $0.211 at high, plus input tokens for your prompt and any reference images (see OpenAI pricing).

QualityOpenAI, 1024×1024 (about)aisplice, 1K
low$0.006$0.0065
medium$0.053$0.0065
high$0.211$0.0065

At low quality the two cost about the same. At medium quality a 1K image is about 8 times cheaper here, and at high quality about 32 times cheaper.

Make an image

Image generation runs as a task: you submit the request, get a task_id at once, check the task until it has finished, then read the image URLs. Create an API key first under Get started.

# 1. Submit
curl https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk-YOUR_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"model": "gpt-image-2", "prompt": "A red paper crane on a wooden desk, soft morning light", "size": "1:1", "resolution": "1K", "quality": "high"}'
# → {"task_id": "task_xxx", "status": "queued"}

# 2. Check every few seconds until status is succeeded or failed
curl https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks/task_xxx -H "Authorization: Bearer sk-YOUR_KEY"

# 3. Read the image URLs
curl https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks/task_xxx/content -H "Authorization: Bearer sk-YOUR_KEY"
# → {"created": 1720000000, "data": [{"url": "https://…"}]}

The same in Python:

import time, requests

BASE = "https://www.aisplice.store"
H = {"Authorization": "Bearer sk-YOUR_KEY"}

task = requests.post(f"https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks", headers=H, json={
    "model": "gpt-image-2",
    "prompt": "A red paper crane on a wooden desk, soft morning light",
    "size": "1:1", "resolution": "1K", "quality": "high",
}).json()

while True:
    status = requests.get(f"https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks/{task['task_id']}", headers=H).json()["status"]
    if status in ("succeeded", "failed"):
        break
    time.sleep(3)

print(requests.get(f"https://www.aisplice.store/v1/images/tasks/{task['task_id']}/content", headers=H).json())
